다음주 일요일(18일)은 캐나다의 Father's Day 입니다.

 

누구나 잊어버리는 날,

생각났어도 무언가 특별하게 해주고 싶은 마음이 잘 안드는 날,,ㅎㅎ

하다못해 백화점까지도 대목임에도 불구하고 선전하기를 

게을리하는 날인 것을..

미리가 아빠의 날을 맞이해서  대본을 썼군요. 

사라진 아버지들이 어디에 있었는지...

Part 1 

 

[Setting starts on a sunny June morning. Mirie is just getting up.]

 아주 밝은 6월의 어느날, 미리가 잠에서 깬다

 

Mirie: *yawn* Whoa, I’m so tired! I was up so late!

미리: (하품) 와우, 너무 피곤하다. 내가 조금 늦게 일어났군! 

[Mirie looks around and notices a beautiful card for father’s day.]

 미리, 주변을 둘러보다가 아름다운 아버지날 카드가 놓여있는 것을 발견한다

 

Mirie: What day is it today? Oh yeah, Fathers day! I nearly forgot!

오늘 무슨 날이지? 오우,, 맞아 아버지날이잖아! 정말 잊어먹을뻔 했어. 

[Mirie grabs card and runs out of the door. Setting change, staff or crew member puts a sign on the wall saying: “Welcome to our kitchen!”.]

미리 카드를 집어들고 문밖으로 나간다. 장면은 바뀌어 무대장치자들이 "부엌에 오신 것을 환영합니다" 사인을 붙이고 나간다 

 

 

Mirie: Happy Fathers Day! 

해피 파더스 데이! 

[Mirie looks around but doesn’t seem to see her dad.]

미리 주변을 둘러보지만, 아빠가 보이지 않는다 

 

Mirie: That’s strange… Mom and Dad are usually drinking their daily coffee.

MOM! WHERES DAD!?

 미리: 이상하군! 엄마하고 아빠하고 아침 커피를 마실시간인데... 엄마! 아빠 어디있어요?

[Mirie’s Mom walks slowly out of door way in pink robe.]

 미리 엄마, 분홍색 가운을 입고 천천히 문쪽으로 나온다

 

Mirie’s Mom: Yeah Honey?

미리의 엄마 : 왜 그래? 이쁜 딸! 

 

Mirie: Where’s dad?

 미리: 아빠 어딨어요?

 

Mirie’s Mom: I don’t know, maybe at Toronto? I can’t remember.

미리 엄마: 모르겠는걸? 토론토 가셨나? 기억이 안나네.. 

 

Mirie: This is serious!

미리: 심각한 일이에요! 

 

Mirie’s Mom: Mirie, I don’t even remember!

 미리 엄마: 난 기억이 나질 않아!

 

Mirie: Let’s go on a walk.

 미리: 같이 밖에 나가봐요

 

Mirie’s Mom: Let’s have some bread…

미리 엄마: 우리 빵이나 먹고.... 

 

Mirie: NOW!

미리: 지금 당장가야 해요! 

 

 

[Setting changes to a sidewalk, Jordan’s mom & Jordan, Mirie’s Mom & Mirie meet Jordan and Jordan’s mom.]

장면이 바뀌어 동네 길가, 조던과 그의 엄마가 있고, 미리와 미리엄마가 함께 만난다 

 

Mirie: so… what brings you here on a walk?

미리: 흠, 왜 이곳에서 걷고 있니? 

 

Jordan: Nothing…

 조던: 아무것도 아니야..

[Jordan & Mirie starts to turn opposite direction until they turn around and face each other four seconds later.]

 조던과 미리는 서로 엇갈려서 길을 걷다가 약 4초후에 서로 돌아서서 얼굴을 마주본다

 

Jordan & Mirie in unison: Did your dad disappear?

 조던과 미리 동시에: 너의 아빠도 없어지셨지?

 

Mirie & Jordan in unison: Yep.

 조던 미리 동시에: 응.

 

Mirie: Yours too?

미리: 너희 아빠도! 

 

Jordan: Yep.

조던: 그래 

 

Mirie: This is weird… especially on Father’s Day.

미리: 정말 이상해... 특별히 아버지날에 말이야 

 

Jordan: I know.

 조던: 그래 맞어

 

Mirie’s Mom: Girls, we can talk later, we need to find your fathers.

미리 엄마: 얘들아, 우리 이야기는 나중에 하고 우선 아빠들을 찾아야해. 

 

Jordan’s Mom: She’s right. Let’s stop for a coffee first!

조던 엄마: 미리 엄마 말이 맞다. 우선 커피샵부터 가보자! 

 

 

[Setting: At “Figgie’s”.]

커피샵 "피기의 집 "으로 장면이 바뀐다

[Brendan is chewing on a jerky and his mom is drinking some coffee.]

브랜든은 육포를 질겅거리며 먹고있고, 그의 엄마는 커피를 마시고 있다. 

 

Mirie: Hi Brendan!

미리: 브랜든 안녕! 

 

Brendan: Hi Berry! [Brendan is still chewing while talking].

브랜든: 하이, 베리! (브랜든 말하면서도 여전히 육포를 씹고있다) 

 

Brendan’s Mom: Manners Brendan, sorry, he doesn’t know his manners.

 브랜든의 엄마: 브랜든 예의를 지켜야지. 미안해 얘가 이렇게 철이 없단다.

 

Mirie’s Mom: That’s okay. Anyway, we just stopped here for coffee. Ella’s husband and my husband are missing.

 미리 엄마: 괜찮아요. 우린 커피마시러 잠깐 들렀어요. 엘라의 남편과 내 남편이

 없어졌어요.

 

Brendan’s Mom: Yours too?

브랜든 엄마: 당신들의 남편들도? 

 

Mirie’s Mom: Yeah! What is happening to the world?

미리 엄마: 그래요. 무슨 이런 일이 있는지.. 

 

Brendan’s Mom: Well enough talk! [Finishes her coffee]

let’s go find the men!

브랜든 엄마: 흠, 더이상 말할 필요가 없어요.(커피를 다 마시고) 자 빨리 남자들을 찾으러 갑시다. 

 

 

[Setting: Back on side walk. The group passes HUGE house.]

(장면이 바뀌어 다시 길가. 그들은 길가에 큰 집을 지나친다) 

 

Jordan: I notice that the “for sale” sign isn’t on anymore, who bought it?

 조던: 더이상 "for sale" 사인을 볼 수 없어! 누가 그집을 샀나?

 

Brendan: Pearl. [Brendan is almost done jerky.]

브랜든: 펄. (그는 그의 육포를 거의 다 먹어가고 있다) 

 

Jordan: Pearl?

 조던: 펄이라고?

 

Brendan’s mom: Earl, he means, a really rich guy named Earl lives there, I heard he has six wives!

 브랜든의 엄마 : 그가 말한 것은 "얼"이야. 그는 정말 부자인데, 그가 6명의 부인들을 가졌다는 소식을 들었어.

 

Jordan’s Mom: Oh…if my husband is with one of those women I’ll punch his face in…and the woman’s!

 조던 엄마 : 오우... 만약에 내 남편이 그 여자들중 한명과 있다면 나는 남편 얼굴을

한대 칠거야,

그 여자도 함께..

 

Mirie’s Mom: Calm down, we just need to find them.

 미리 엄마 : 고정하세요, 우리는 일단 그들을 찾아야 해요.

 

[Music starts to play.]

[음악이 흐른다] 

 

Mirie: Do you hear music.

 미리: 음악소리 들리니?

 

Jordan: Yeah.

조던: 응 

 

Brendan: I LOVE THIS SONG!

브랜든: 난 이 곡이 정말 좋아! 

 

Mirie’s Mom: LET’S GO!

미리 엄마: 빨리 가자! 

[Group runs to the right.]

[그룹 오른쪽으로 달려간다]

 

 

 Part 2

 

[Setting starts at a party, kind of on a patio. There is a buffet table with waiters/waitresses walking around.]

[장면바뀌어 파티오에서 파티가 벌어지고 있다. 뷔페 테이블이 있고,

웨이터와 웨이트리스가

그 주변에서 일하고 있다]

 

Jordan’s Mom: There they are! (She points to a trio of men)

조던 엄마: 그들이 저곳에 있어.(그녀는 세명의 남자를 가르킨다) 

[All of the three dads are dancing with a lady.]

 [세명의 남자, 모두 다른 여성들과 댄스를 즐기고 있다]

[Jordan’s mom grumpily stomps toward her husband.]

 [조던 엄마 심술궂게 발을 구르며 그녀의 남편쪽으로 다가간다]

 

Jordan’s Mom: Why you little…Why I oughta…

조던 엄마: 당 당신이,,,, 왜,,,,,  

[Than Earl steps in behind Jordan’s mom and touches her on shoulder. Jordan’s Mom quickly turns around and punches him in the nose. Music stops.]

 [그때 얼이 조던 엄마의 등뒤에서 나타나 그녀의 어깨에 손을 댄다. 조던 엄마 바로 뒤로 돌아서서 그의 코있는 부분에 주먹으로 한대 친다. 음악이 멈춘다]

 

Brendan’s Mom: Ella!! That was Earl!

브랜든의 엄마 : 엘라!! 그분은 얼이야! 

 

Earl: its okay, I’m used to this. DJ! Turn the music back on.

얼: 괜찮습니다. 이런 일엔 익숙하지요.  디제이! 음악 다시 틀어!

 [Music continues.]

 [음악 계속된다]

 

Earl: I see that you are the lovely wives of these men?

얼: 흐음! 당신들이 이 세분의 아름다운 부인들이시군요?

 

Mirie’s mom: YOU BET YOU ARE RIGHT!! [Mirie’s mom rolls up sleeve.]

 미리 엄마: 당신 말이 맞소! [미리 엄마 팔소매를 걷기 시작한다]

Earl: Enchanted.

[Kisses Mirie’s Mom on hand.]

 얼 : 매혹적이십니다[미리 엄마의 손에 키스를 한다]

[Mirie’s Mom disgustedly pulls her hand away from Earl]

 

Mirie’s Mom: Why are our husbands here with these…these... singles!?

 [Mirie’s mom clenches her fist, getting ready to punch.]

 

[미리 엄마, 징그러운 듯이 얼에게서 자신의 손을 뺀다]

미리 엄마: 왜 우리 남편들이 여기에 있지요? 여기에... 이 여자들과?

[미리 엄마, 주먹을 불끈 쥐며 싸울 자세를 취한다] 

 

 

 

Earl: You must understand! I met your husbands at a bar and I invited them to my Fathers Day party.

 얼: 이해해 주세요. 나는 당신들의 남편을 술집에서 만났습니다. 오늘 아버지의 날을 맞아

파티를 열고 그들을 초대한 것입니다

 

Jordan’s Mom: He went to that bar again?

조던 엄마 : 아니, 그가 술집에 다시 갔단 말이에요? 

 

Earl: I presume that you would like your husbands?

 얼 : 짐작컨데 당신들은 남편을 무척 좋아하나 보군요?

 

All mothers in unison: OH YEAH!

모든 엄마들 한목소리로 : 그렇구 말구요! 

 

Earl: ladies?

 얼: 여성분들?

[Ladies keep dancing.]

 [여성들 아직도 춤을 추고 있다]

 

Jordan’s mom: He said: “move over sister!”

[Jordan’s mom pushes lady that is dancing with her husband and

starts to dance with him.]

 조던 엄마: 그 분 말씀은 "여러분들 비켜주십사 "하는 거에요!

[조던 엄마 자신의 남편과 춤추던 여성을 밀어내고, 남편과 춤을 추기 시작한다]

[The last two moms push away ladies and reunite with their husbands.]

 [나머지 두 엄마들도 여자들을 밀어내고 남편과 합류한다]

 

Mirie : I think this was the best Fathers Day yet!

 미리: 아직 뭔가가 빠진 것 같은데..

 

Brendan: I know!

 브랜든: 그런 것 같애!

 

Jordan: Wait! I have an idea!

조던: 잠깐만! 좋은 생각이 있어! 

[Jordan whispers secretly in Brendan and Mirie’s ear. Group walks up to DJ’s stereo set. All three guys pick up micro-phone.]

 

Jordan, Mirie, and Brendan: HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

[조던, 브랜든과 미리에게 귓속말로 비밀스럽게 속삭인다.

세명은 디 제이가 있는 스테레오 근처로 가서, 마이크를 붙잡는다]

조던, 미리, 브랜든 : 해피 파더스 데이!
